Celebrating the life of

Braedan Steven Pence

May 13, 2002 - October 07, 2023

Braedan Steven Pence

Braedan Steven Pence was born on May 13, 2002 in Savannah, GA  and passed away October 7, 2023 at his home, in Savannah.

He is survived by his parents, Julie and Steve Pence, his brother Austin Pence, Grandmother Janet Pence, Uncles Brad Pence (Celia), Bill Newman (Debbie), Tim Newman (Janine) and Aunt Elizabeth Roth. Loving cousins Jazmin Jara, Ismael Newman, Kallie Pence, Jessica Roth, Chelsie Roth, Kyle Roth, and nephew, Danny Newman.

There are not adequate words to show appreciation for his home nurses. Bonnie, Nichole, Rose, Carolina and Jennifer could not have been more perfect, and Braedan loved them like family.  Braedan loved his local FRamily who were present for all his extra needs and special milestones. He graduated from Groves high school where he had the most dedicated special education team. His last years were highlighted by Tootle, his home school angel on earth, and continued Physical therapy with PT guru Cindy.

Braedan was born with a variety of medical complications, and through the expertise of an amazing and dedicated team of medical support,  lived a comfortable and happy life. His home health dream team kept him content and happy. His smile and goofy laugh was contagious.

One of his greatest joys was being with his older brother. He was called sunshine B boy, because he lit up when he was outside, feeling the sunshine in his face, and Monkey Man for all of his barrel of monkeys that surrounded him in his bed.   He loved long walks with Bonnie and waving at all neighbors who passed by. He brought inspiration through his strength.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary Anne and Bill Newman and his grandfather Russell Pence.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Home, on 7200 Hodgson  Memorial Drive.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you consider a donation in Braedan’s memory to an account to benefit his home health nursing team at

I love the way that Braedan lovingly reacted to his mom and dad, and the way that he played with his brother. I love and miss Braedan and his affinity for the beautiful sunshine and long walks; and his love for those cheeky monkeys. I have learned so much from him- to really slow down and enjoy the simple things. He and his family have imprinted on my heart forever.
